Which Samsung televisions this covers
Broadly, Samsung Smart TVs from around 2017 onwards run a version of Tizen that supports the common player apps. Older sets may have an app store that no longer receives those apps, in which case a Firestick plugged into a spare HDMI port is far cheaper than replacing the television.
You do not need a Samsung account for the streaming itself, though the app store will usually ask you to sign in before it lets you install anything.
Apps that work on Tizen
The Samsung store carries several IPTV players. The two you will see recommended most often are Smart IPTV and IBO Player. Both are lightweight and built for a remote control rather than a touchscreen.
Note that IPTV Smarters Pro and TiviMate are Android applications — they do not run on Tizen. If you specifically want TiviMate, you need an Android TV device. Our player comparison sets out which app runs on which platform.
Installing IPTV on a Samsung Smart TV
- Open the Samsung app store from the Home menu on your television.
- Search for your chosen player — Smart IPTV or IBO Player — and install it.
- Open the app and note the device key or MAC address it displays on screen. Write it down exactly; this identifies your television.
- Send us that key on WhatsApp together with your plan, and we will return your login details set up for that device.
- Enter the details, or let the app load them, then allow the channel list and EPG guide to download fully before browsing.
The first load is the slow one. Once the guide has populated, opening the app afterwards is quick.
The MAC address step, explained
Several Tizen players tie a playlist to one television rather than to an account. The app shows a MAC address — a fixed hardware identifier that looks like 00:1A:2B:3C:4D:5E — and the playlist is registered against it.
Two practical consequences. First, that identifier belongs to that television, so moving to a different set means registering again. Second, some of these apps charge their own small one-off activation fee, which is paid to the app developer and is entirely separate from your ManisIPTV subscription. We will tell you plainly if the app you have picked does that.
Common Samsung problems
Four causes account for most of them, and they are worth knowing in the order they are worth checking: the app missing from the store because regional availability varies, stuttering that turns out to be the network rather than the television, an empty guide that simply had not finished its first download, and details entered with a typo.
